LPL Financial Recruits Another Texas-Based Team
LPL Financial LLC recruits Corpus Christi Financial Group.
LPL Financial LLC, the nation’s largest independent broker-dealer, has added Corpus Christi Financial Group to its broker-dealer, corporate registered investment advisor, and custodial platforms.
Corpus Christi’s advisors serve approximately $400 million in advisory, brokerage and retirement plan assets and was previously affiliated with Voya, a firm recently acquired by Cetera Financial Group.
Led by managing partner Cory Summers, the Corpus Christi, Texas-based team includes financial advisors Kurt Emerick, Jim Mailhes, Alan Canine, Justin Martinez and Ava “Diane” Smith, as well as two licensed assistants and five office support staff members.
“With no minimums or income level requirements, we work with a diverse group of hard-working individuals looking to simplify their complex financial lives,” said Summers. “We develop personal relationships with each client, and are focused on financial education to help them understand the ‘why’ behind the strategies and plans we put in place.”
Summers purchased Corpus Christi Financial Group in 2013 and said that the practice has grown in size since then. According to Summers, the growth trajectory, coupled with the fact that their previous firm was acquired, prompted the team to find a new wealth management partner.
“We wanted a place we can call ‘home’ for the long-term; somewhere we can focus on clients and not worry about the next change,” he said.
In other news, LPL reported last week that another Texas-based team, TBT Financial Services, joined from Raymond James.
LPL Financial provides service to approximately $1.1 trillion in brokerage and advisory assets as of June 30, 2021. The company supports more than 19,000 financial advisors, 800 institution-based investment programs, and 450 independent RIA firms nationwide.
