LPL Financial Recruits Former Morgan Stanley Advisor
LPL Financial has added financial advisor Douglas Chin to its broker-dealer, corporate registered investment advisor, and custodial platforms.
LPL Financial LLC, the nation’s largest independent broker-dealer, has added financial advisor Douglas Chin to its broker-dealer, corporate registered investment advisor, and custodial platforms.
Formerly with Morgan Stanley, Chin serves approximately $200 million in advisory, brokerage and retirement plan assets and is aligned with Gladstone Wealth Partners, a large enterprise on LPL’s hybrid RIA platform.
With 30 years of industry experience, Chin is based in Red Bank, New Jersey and serves high-net-worth families and small businesses.
“I focus on long-term planning to help clients pursue their financial objectives, while building strong relationships with each and every one of them in the process. I incorporate the ‘mom rule’ in my business philosophy, treating clients with the same respect I give my own mother,” Chin said.
Chin is a retired Navy Captain, having served more than 30 years on active duty and in reserves. He commanded three major units and worked in national and regional staff, evaluation command and selection boards. In addition, he served on the board of the Navy Supply Corps Foundation as treasurer and investment committee chairman from 1995 to 2008.
After working in the wirehouse capacity for most of his career, Chin decided to launch an independent practice in alignment with Gladstone Wealth Partners. With the move, he is joined by Carolyn Anderson, registered administrative assistant.
LPL Financial provides service to approximately $1.1 trillion in brokerage and advisory assets as of June 30, 2021. The company supports more than 19,000 financial advisors, 800 institution-based investment programs, and 450 independent RIA firms nationwide.
