LPL Financial Recruits Former First Allied Team
LPL Financial LLC, the nation’s largest independent broker-dealer, has added Kris Staples and Trevor Johnson of Staples Financial to its broker-dealer and corporate registered investment advisor platforms.

They join from First Allied Securities, part of the Cetera network of broker-dealers, and serve approximately $150 million in brokerage and advisory assets
Based in Twin Cities, Minnesota, Staples Financial was founded 45 years ago by Staples’ father, Art. From an early age Staples said that he knew he would follow in his father’s footsteps and launched his career in 2000 under his mentorship. Johnson joined the business in 2008 as Art Staples began to transition into retirement. The team is assisted by longtime office manager Rachael Johnson.
“Trevor and I entered the business with a financial planning mindset. We share a passion for helping our clients grow and protect their legacies using a strategy-based approach backed by detailed cash flow planning,” Staples said.
The firm’s clients predominantly come from the electrical industry, although they also serve several business owners, executives and high-net-worth families.
LPL Financial provides service to approximately $670 billion in brokerage and advisory assets as of March 31, 2020. The company provides proprietary technology, comprehensive clearing services, practice management programs and training, and independent research to 16,763 financial advisors and 700 financial institutions.
