Cetera Advisors LLC, a wealth management firm within the Cetera network, has recruited Totus Wealth Management, a Texas-based team with $2.4 billion in client assets.
Led by president and chief executive officer James Starnes, the practice provides full-service financial planning, wealth management, and insurance and protection products. Totus Wealth Management was previously registered with MML Investors Services, the broker-dealer affiliate of insurance company MassMutual.
Starnes will be joined by a team of six producing financial professionals and four support staff with plans for “immediate growth.” The firm has offices in Houston and Woodlands, Texas, with plans to expand, the company said.
“We go beyond financial planning to understand one’s aspirations and dreams. Then together, we analyze risk and opportunity, and implement a plan to help achieve those goals,” said Sandra Diaz, Totus’ chief operating officer.
Last month, Cetera Advisors recruited The Advisors LLC, a full-service wealth management practice based in Pennsylvania with $150 million in assets under management and $190 million brokerage assets.
Cetera Financial Group, a network of independent retail firms, also includes Cetera Advisor Networks, Cetera Investment Services, (marketed as Cetera Financial Institutions or Cetera Investors), Cetera Financial Specialists, and First Allied Securities.
