Sandlapper Capital Investments Launches Joint Venture
Sandlapper Capital Investments, sponsor and distributor of alternative investment products, recently announced that it has launched a joint venture with Innovative Real Estate Companies.
The joint venture, Sandlapper Student Housing, LLC (SSH), will sponsor the acquisition of and investment in student housing properties across the country.
“We have seen an increased demand for quality real estate investments, particularly for those investors seeking replacement property when executing an IRC Section 1031 exchange,” commented Trevor Gordon, CEO of Sandlapper Student Housing, LLC and founder and CEO of Sandlapper Capital Investments, LLC. He continued, “Given our firm’s management in the structure and distribution of securitized real estate investment offerings we actively sought a solid real estate partner to partner in the acquisition and management of assets. When we identified student housing as an asset class we wanted to be invested, we knew there was no other choice for us but to partner with the team at Innovative.”
Innovative Real Estate Companies is a Houston-based family of companies specializing in the management, development, acquisition, and disposition of residential real estate. The company’s CEO, Doug Sherman, added, “Having acquired and developed multiple student housing communities, it was advantageous for us to look and expand to multifamily opportunities distribution to take advantage of good buying opportunities in today’s market and expand our reach which is already nationwide. The teams from both companies will work closely together, with Ray Sun, the Chief Investment Officer for Sandlapper, leading the acquisition and asset management processes for the newly formed company and its investments.
Jared Miller, President of Multifamily Operations and Mark Foraker, Executive Vice President, Student Housing from Innovative will oversee day-to-day management of the physical property.
The investor closing and reporting processes will be managed by Amy Schiera, Director of Investor Services and Operations with Sandlapper.
