Summit Investment Research Launches Online Research Center for Non-Traded Investments

Summit Investment Research, a new research and due diligence firm, recently launched its online research platform for non-traded investments. Summit was founded by Mike Stubben, who currently serves as president of the company.

Stubben previously owned and operated MTS Research Advisors, which was acquired by SK Research in October 2014.

SK Research, which was formerly a subsidiary of RCS Capital Corporation (NYSE: RCAP), was formed in March 2014 when the now bankrupt brokerage firm hired Todd Snyder, John Kearney and most of the former employees of Snyder Kearney LLC, a law firm that provided third party due diligence to the non-traded direct investment industry.

SK Research operated independently under the RCAP umbrella and announced late last year that it would repurchase its assets from the firm and establish itself as a newly formed, independent company while continuing to provide services to the Cetera broker-dealer network and other clients. RCS Capital Corporation was the holding company of Cetera Financial Group, which emerged independent in the pre-arranged bankruptcy of its parent company.

Summit Investment Research has been active since April. Its most recent reports cover 66 non-traded real estate investment trusts, 17 non-traded business development companies, 6 interval funds, and 15 listed REITs (that acquired non-traded REITs or were once non-traded REITs).

The platform also allows subscribers to access quarterly market update webcasts and six educational webcasts that satisfy a 1-hour continuing education credit each.

The company’s research can be utilized by a variety of industry clients including financial advisors, registered investment advisors, broker-dealers, sponsors, service providers like law firms, due diligence firms, industry organizations, and news organizations, and institutions.
