Preferred Capital Securities Adds Derek Bonner to Sales Team

Preferred Capital Securities LLC, the dealer manager for Preferred Apartment Communities Inc. (NYSE: APTS), has hired Derek Bonner as associate vice president for its national sales team.

Preferred Capital Securities LLC, the dealer manager for Preferred Apartment Communities Inc. (NYSE: APTS), has hired Derek Bonner as associate vice president for its national sales team. Bonner will provide internal advisor support to Leo Peters, regional vice president for the firm’s south-central region, which covers Oklahoma and Texas.

“The addition of Derek to our sales team reflects our continued commitment to hire the best and brightest in the industry,” said CEO Al Haworth. “Throughout his career, including his time in the Marines, Derek has been a top performer. We know he will make a positive impact here too.”

Bonner joined Preferred Capital Securities from American Funds, where he supported their Idaho, Montana and Wyoming regions as an internal wholesaler. Prior to American Funds, he worked as an internal for FS Investments.

Bonner served in the United States Marine Corps as an avionics supervisor where he was awarded the Naval Achievement Medal. He earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Central Florida in Orlando and holds Series 7 and 63 FINRA registrations.

In other company news, Tyler Bergman was recently promoted to regional vice president for the firm’s Northern California and Northern Nevada regions.

Preferred Apartment Communities, which has more than $3 billion in assets under management, acquires and operates multifamily communities in select target markets throughout the United States. PAC may also make real estate loan investments in multifamily communities and other multifamily related assets, such as off-campus student housing communities. The company may also invest a portion of its assets in other income-producing property types, such as grocery-anchored shopping centers and office properties.
