General Description: Greater Midwest Regional Vice President

The position comes with a high level of autonomy and requires building and maintaining relationships with financial advisors/brokers to generate required production/sales revenue from firm’s investment products. Development of tactical plan and thoughtful, diligent execution of territory management are both a must to position the firm’s financial products and generate revenue within the specified territory. There are two territories available:

Greater Midwest Territory (includes Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, and Western Pennsylvania)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Work to increase sales within the territory by developing and maintaining new and existing relationships with third party distributors, which presently includes independent financial planners and registered investment advisors.
  2. Conduct the following activities to develop relationships and raise capital for Pacific Oak distributed offerings: meeting with advisors in territory, conducting client seminars, broker/dealer conferences and annual meetings, relationship building with sales management at key firms.
  3. Work in coordination with internal sales partners, providing direction for outbound sales call campaigns and strategic territory coverage.
  4. Maintain high activity level of face-to-face selling, requiring multiple days a week in the field.
  5. Assist with developing and implementing wholesaling business plans for the territory to deliver on sales goals.
  6. Manage expense account within allotted budget.

Requirements

  1. Five or more years relevant experience within an investment environment. Interest and/or experience in the alternative investment space and/or independent Broker-Dealer channel preferred. Must have an in-depth knowledge of fund products, financial markets and competitive landscape, product performance, and investment management philosophy.
  2. Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  3. Strong sales abilities are required, evidenced by a track record of increasing new business and developing relationships. Must be able to use appropriate interpersonal styles and communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing in order to position Pacific Oak offerings for the purpose of informing financial advisors and accomplish sales objectives.
  4. Extensive knowledge of the Financial Services Industry, alternative investments and other investment vehicles. Strong existing relationships with sales, business, product, and research people in the independent Broker/Dealer channel.
  5. Ability to analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  6. Ability to effectively prepare and deliver clear, convincing, and professional sales presentations and respond to inquiries/questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  7. Series 7 and 63 required.
