Franklin Square Hosts the Boys & Girls Club

Successful people understand the value in giving back to their communities. Successful firms certainly appreciate the benefits. By contributing time or service to those around you, everyone wins.

This isn’t lost on Franklin Square Capital Partners (Franklin Square).

The Philadelphia-based sponsor of non-traded business development companies and other alternative investment offerings recently hosted members of the Boys & Girls Club at an athletic field event at its Walt Disney World Clubhouse. Franklin Square has an office in Orlando, Florida in addition to its headquarters in Philly.

Twenty-seven employees from the alternative investment sponsor joined members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida for the special occasion.

The Boys & Girls Club helps provide valuable programs in education, art, fitness, and career development for those between the ages of six and eighteen.

Franklin Square’s recently unveiled charitable affiliate, the Franklin Square Foundation, focuses on a strong employee service initiative and offers volunteer days for those in its Orlando office.

Programs like this not only provide for those in the community, they allow employees to interact outside of the office and form lasting bonds.

“The kids from the Boys & Girls Club loved it, and that’s what’s most important,” said Michael Gerber, Franklin Square Executive Vice President of Administration and Public Affairs. “Secondarily, it was a great opportunity for our folks to connect with each other while deriving fulfillment from their service,” he added.

From its disaster relief-matching program to its core values in philanthropy, the Franklin Square Foundation has continued to promote a series of opportunities embracing volunteerism. Within the next year, Franklin Square plans to host additional events in Orlando and Philadelphia.
