Strategic Wireless Expands Telecom Infrastructure Portfolio with Latest Acquisition

Strategic Wireless Infrastructure Funds Management has purchased a portfolio of seven cell towers.

Strategic Wireless Infrastructure Funds Management, a private placement sponsor and the wireless infrastructure division of Strategic Capital Fund Management, has purchased a portfolio of seven cell towers through its affiliate, SWI Funds Tower Holdings LLC.

The towers are located throughout North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota and are situated close to densely populated and/or metropolitan areas, the company said.

“We continue to execute on our vision of investing in, and aggregating, essential telecommunications infrastructure assets,” said Jerry Sullivan, chief executive officer of Strategic Wireless. “We are excited to continue expanding our portfolio and our tenant base with this latest acquisition.”

Strategic Wireless said that the towers serve two of the top-tier wireless carriers, TV and radio broadcasters, and the Department of Homeland Security.

Todd Rowley, chief investment officer, said “We continue to source under-the-radar transactions, at what we believe are attractive multiples, that we think help fortify our overall portfolio.”

Strategic Wireless focuses on acquiring, building and managing telecom infrastructure assets that support broadband connectivity, and establishes partnerships with wireless carriers and independent operators and developers throughout the U.S.

The company sponsors Strategic Wireless Infrastructure Fund LLC, which according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, is a Regulation D fund structured as a 506(b) that seeks to raise up to $100 million.
