SQN Investment Advisors LLC, an alternative fund manager and SEC-registered investment adviser that specializes in asset-backed and equipment leasing funds, has rebranded to Arboretum Investment Advisors LLC. The rebrand is symbolic of Arboretum Investment Advisors’ position within the Arboretum Group family of companies, the company said.
The Arboretum Group family of companies provides fund services in the alternative investment space with offices in California, New York, Atlanta and New England. Within the Arboretum Group family of companies, Arboretum Investment Advisors will continue to serve as the investment manager for Arboretum Group sponsored funds as well as provide services to third party funds, including portfolio management, accounting, underwriting, investor relations, and legal services.
Arboretum Investment Advisers currently acts as investment manager for two Arboretum Group sponsored funds, including SQN Asset Income Fund V L.P. and a fund for Arboretum CAF GP LLC.
As part of a global rebranding effort, SQN Securities LLC, a wholesale broker-dealer, will rebrand as American Elm Distribution Partners LLC. The firm acts as the exclusive selling agent for public and private offerings under the Arboretum Group umbrella, as well as other third-party offerings, and specializes in the distribution of alternative investments in the retail and institutional markets.
“Our goal for 2019 is to continue to distinguish Arboretum Investment Advisors as an institutional quality alternative investment manager offering private fund vehicles specializing in asset-backed equipment finance,” said Michael Ponticello, managing partner for Arboretum Group. “We are excited about the growth of the Arboretum Group as a whole as we continue to develop our global strategy and introduce the Arboretum name to our retail and institutional base.”
The Arboretum Group family of companies also includes Arboretum Commercial Finance LLC, which specializes in sourcing and originating investment opportunities in the equipment finance space. The firm specializes in middle market lending and leasing with a transaction size ranging from $100,000 to $15 million across multiple industries including medical, manufacturing, technology, infrastructure, energy, and transportation.
