Mark DeCesaris Appointed Chairman of Carey Watermark Investors 1 and 2
The boards of directors of Carey Watermark Investors Inc. and Carey Watermark Investors 2 Inc., two publicly registered non-traded real estate investment trusts sponsored by W. P. Carey Inc. (NYSE: WCP), appointed Mark DeCesaris to serve as chairman and a member of both boards. He currently serves as chief executive officer and a director of W. P. Carey.
DeCesaris was appointed as W.P. Carey’s chief executive officer in February 2016, after Trevor Bond stepped down to pursue other interests. He has served as a member of the company’s board of directors and chairman of its technology committee since July 2012.
He also served as chief financial officer of W. P. Carey from 2010 to 2013 and as acting chief financial officer from 2005 to 2010. Before joining the firm, DeCesaris was executive vice president for Southern Union Company, a publicly traded natural gas energy company.
DeCesaris graduated from Kings College with a bachelor’s in accounting and information technology. He currently serves on the board of Kings College and on the board of the Denver Mile High Youth Corps, Petroleum Service Co., and Mountain Productions Inc.
