InvenTrust Names Michael Podboy Principal Accounting Officer

InvenTrust Properties Corp. a publicly registered non-traded real estate investment trust formerly known as Inland American Real Estate Trust, reported that Anna Fitzgerald resigned as the company’s executive vice president – chief accounting officer and principal accounting officer. Her resignation is not a result of any disagreement with the company, according to a filing with Securities and Exchange Commission.

The board of directors appointed Michael Podboy, the current executive vice president, chief financial officer, chief investment officer and treasurer, to also serve as principal accounting officer of the company.

Podboy has served as the executive vice president – chief financial officer, chief investment officer and treasurer since November 2015, and as executive vice president – chief investment officer from March to November 2014. He also served as the executive vice president – investments from the time the company initiated its self-management transactions in March 2014 through November 2014. According to the company, since 2007, he has taken a leading role in more than $10 billion of transactions at InvenTrust, which include platform transactions, property level acquisitions and dispositions, and alternative investments.

Podboy received a bachelor’s degree with a focus on accounting and computer science from the University of Saint Thomas in Saint Paul, Minnesota. He currently serves as an executive committee member of the company’s retail joint venture entity, IAGM Retail Fund I, LLC.

InvenTrust Properties Corp.‘s portfolio consists of 124 properties, excluding development properties, representing 14.6 million square feet of retail space, 11,035 student housing beds and 5.7 million square feet of non-core space. The pending sale of its student housing platform is expected to close by the end of the second quarter 2016.
