LPL Financial LLC, the nation’s largest independent broker-dealer, announced that financial advisors Brad Sicoff and Bruce Porter of SYV Wealth Advisors and Blake Mier of Mier Financial have joined LPL’s broker-dealer, registered investment advisor and custodial platforms.

SYV Wealth Advisors reported having served approximately $115 million and in advisory, brokerage and retirement plan assets, and joins LPL from Cambridge.

Mier Financial reported having served approximately $230 million in advisory, brokerage and retirement plan assets, and joins LPL from Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network.

Prior to becoming an advisor, Bruce Porter served 25 years in the United States Army and retired as a colonel in 2001. He then shifted focus to the financial service industry and founded SYV Wealth Advisors in 2017.

SYV Wealth expanded in 2022, bringing in partner Brad Sicoff, a former veteran wholesaler in the annuity field. For more than two decades, Sicoff worked with and coached many financial advisers on retirement income planning.

“With LPL being an all-encompassing firm and its own custodian, we believe it will be much easier to service our clients and lower costs,” Sicoff said. “LPL’s innovative technology is streamlined and more user-friendly, and its integrated capabilities will help us be more efficient. We think clients will appreciate the consolidated statements and digital tools available to access their account information. Ultimately, we will be able to serve clients more effectively, which is what they deserve.”

Based in Bloomington, Illinois, LPL says Mier has “developed a reputation” over his 25-year career as an adviser focused on developing personal, long-term relationships with his clients and identifying investment strategies to help meet their aspirational goals.

“The best part of my job is getting to know my clients and their financial hopes, goals and fears, and then working with them to put together a financial plan that addresses all of those things,” Mier said. “Most of my clients have been with me for years, and many of them are multi-generational. I am very proud of the relationships I have built during my career and am honored that my clients trust me with this extremely important part of their lives.”

LPL supports approximately 22,000 financial advisers, 1,100 institution-based investment programs and 560 independent registered investment advisor firms nationwide.
