ADISA, the Alternative & Direct Investment Securities Association, presented its industry awards at their annual conference and trade show in Las Vegas this week.

The ACE Award, the association’s highest honor, is bestowed to an ADISA member who has not only reached a pinnacle in their personal career but has also brought credit to themselves and ADISA through additional distinguished works. The 2023 ACE Award was presented to John Harrison, executive director of ADISA, who late last year announced his intention to retire in 2023.  His replacement has yet to be named.

The Distinguished Service Award is presented to individuals and companies who have provided “exceptional service” to ADISA, the alternative investments industry and the overall community. This award was presented to David Pittman, ADISA board member and senior vice president, capital markets, Southeast, of Cottonwood Residential.

Matthew Iak, ADISA board member and executive vice president of U.S. Energy Development Corporation, received the President’s Award. ADISA says the award is given to an individual or organization that has made outstanding contributions in their chosen field, either by service in local, state, or national affairs, or in support of the advancement and continued excellence of ADISA.

“The ADISA ACE Award has a long and storied tradition in our organization, and it represents the ideal that we all strive to achieve in the alternative and direct investment space,” said ADISA Executive Director John Harrison. “I’m extremely honored to receive the 2023 ACE Award, and I’m pleased to congratulate David and Matthew on their recognition as well. We truly appreciate everything they do for ADISA and our industry at large.”

ADISA’s 2023 Annual Conference & Trade Show hosted more than 1,100 professionals for education and networking. This year’s conference agenda covered artificial intelligence, opportunity zones, impact investing, oil and gas, private equity, Delaware statutory trusts, legislative and regulatory updates and more.

The Alternative & Direct Investment Securities Association bills itself as the nation’s largest trade association representing the non‐traded alternative investment space. ADISA’s members are typically involved in non-traded real estate investment trusts, business development companies, master limited partnerships and private and public funds (LPs/LLCs), 1031 exchange programs (DSTs/TICs), energy and oil and gas interests, equipment leasing programs or other alternative and direct investment offerings.
