ADISA Announces 2020 President-Elect and Officers

The board of the Alternative & Direct Investment Securities Association (ADISA), a trade association representing the alternative and direct investment industry, has selected its 2020 officers at its first board meeting of the year.

The new board of the Alternative & Direct Investment Securities Association (ADISA), a trade association representing the alternative and direct investment industry, has selected its 2020 officers at its first board meeting of the year.

Larry Sullivan of Passco Companies begins his term as the 2020 ADISA president and Brian Buehler of Triton Pacific Securities was elected as the 2020 president-elect and will serve as president in 2021.

The other ADISA officers selected were: Sherri Cooke of AI Insight as vice president; Ann Moore of International Assets Advisory as secretary; and Mark Kosanke of Concorde Investment Services as treasurer. Greg Mausz of Preferred Capital Securities, ADISA’s 2019 president, will serve the board as its immediate past president.

Sullivan serves as president of Passco Companies, a sponsor of 1031 Delaware statutory trusts and other alternative investments, and during his career, he has been involved with more than $15 billion in real estate transactions on a national scale, including core, value-add and development projects spanning across all major property and specialty sectors. Prior to joining Passco, he served as managing director of PM Realty Advisors, an institutional pension fund advisor.

Brian Buehler is partner of Los Angeles based private equity firm, Triton Pacific Capital Partners, and is president and chief executive officer at Triton Pacific Securities. Buehler has over 20 years of investment, product development and distribution experience within financial services, commercial real estate, alternative investments and private equity. He is a member of the firm’s investment committee, principal investor of varied portfolio companies, runs the firm’s capital markets strategy, and has helped build distribution platforms that have raised capital to support more than $2 billion of alternative investment strategies.

Sherri Cooke, CEO and founder of AI Insight, has been in the financial services industry for more than 25 years. She founded AI Insight in 2005 with the goal of providing the financial planning community with a database of alternative investment programs. Before she formed AI Insight, Cooke was an alternative investment industry consultant focused on product development and positioning, due diligence, compliance and key account management. She also worked in product marketing and education, as well as with the strategic implementation of alternative investment products within the broker-dealer community.

Ann Moore is the chief business development officer at International Assets Advisory. She received her bachelor’s degree in microbiology from Brigham Young University in 1987. Moore began her professional career in 1988 as an underwriter for a large insurance company in Salt Lake City, Utah. In May 2008, Moore joined International Assets Advisory LLC, and in June 2016 she was promoted to chief business development officer after serving as IAA’s national sales manager. Moore also oversees the firms recruiting, hiring committee and transitioning teams, as well as the firm’s marketing department which includes marketing, advertising, communications, products and services, as well as practice development for IAA and its network of independent advisors.

Mark Kosanke, CPA, has nearly 30 years of securities industry experience. He is one of the founders of Concorde Investment Services (CIS), a Michigan-based securities broker-dealer firm and is a current owner of Concorde Holdings, CIS’s parent company. He is a president of Concorde Financial Group, which operates as an investment and asset management firm. Prior to Concorde he was at the Detroit office of Price Waterhouse & Co. where he concentrated on audit, taxes, and real estate. Mark is active in strategic tax planning and investment portfolio design with more than $200 million in assets under management. He is recognized for his proficiency in the 1031 exchange area.

Greg Mausz is currently chief operating officer for Preferred Capital Securities. Most recently Mausz held the role of managing director of Cape Securities and Cape Investment Advisory, a nationally ranked independent broker-dealer and SEC-registered RIA. He has spent 20 years in the financial services industry, serving in various leadership roles that resulted in raising more than $8 billion in investor capital.

The other ADISA 2020 board of directors are: Brandon Balkman of Orchard Securities, who also serves as president of ADISA’s Foundation; Catherine Bowman of The Bowman Law Firm; John H. Grady of Practus; David Johan of Altruist Advisors; Nati Kiferbaum of Inland Private Capital Corporation; Matt Malone of FS Investments; Jean Merriman of The Strategic Financial Alliance (SFA); Joe Michaletz of Discipline Advisors; Vali Nasr of Claraphi Advisory Network; Brad Updike of Mick Law; and Tom Voekler of Kaplan Voekler Cunningham & Frank. Darryl Steinhause of DLA Piper serves the board as volunteer legal counsel.

The Alternative & Direct Investment Securities Association bills itself as the nation’s largest trade association representing the non‐traded alternative investment space. Its members are typically involved in non-traded real estate investment trusts, business development companies, master limited partnerships and private and public funds (LPs/LLCs), 1031 exchange programs (DSTs/TICs), energy and oil and gas interests, equipment leasing programs, or other alternative and direct investment offerings. The association was founded in 2003 and has more than 4,000 members.
