The firm was founded in 2003 and manages real estate equity investments across the risk spectrum within a variety of investment structures on behalf of U.S. and foreign institutional investors. Stockbridge has approximately $33 Billion of assets under management spanning all major real estate property types, and certain specialty property types with an emphasis on residential and industrial space throughout the United States. The firm has offices in San Francisco, Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Dallas, and Phoenix.
Opportunity and Position Summary:
Stockbridge is seeking an experienced Finance Operations Associate to support our Private Wealth business. This role is the primary point of contact for all accounting related activities and questions for all Private Wealth functions, working closely with all Private Wealth departments, transfer agents, broker/dealers, custodians, 3rd party distribution/tech platforms, fund administrators, advisors, and other financial intermediaries.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The role encompasses a broad spectrum of Private Wealth finance responsibilities, including:
• Help compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries to accounts and account reconciliations on monthly basis, and documenting
business transactions.
• Preparation of daily cash reconciliations reflecting all accounts payable, wire transfer and direct withdrawal/ACH activity.
• Preparation of monthly or quarterly bonus/commission spreadsheets.
• Track and report on Private Wealth T&E budgets.
• Support month-end accrual process and reviewing actual expenses against budgeted figures.
• Process advisor reimbursements and ensure that information is properly updated in CRM system.
• Help maintain amortization schedules for prepaid expenses (conferences, insurance, other).
• Coordinate and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales entries and reports.
• CRM and DST Salesconnect data and trade reconciliation and maintenance.
• Broker/Dealer and RIA support, selling agreement setups, research, and correspondence with transfer agent.
• Maintain inventory of selling and marketing agreements in central repository.
• Support inquiries from Private Wealth sales team.
• Assist in annual budgeting process and monthly forecasting preparation.
• Special projects and other duties as needed.
Skills and Competencies:
Bachelor’s degree required.
• BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics preferred.
• Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in corporate accounting/finance, preferably with an alternative investment firm.
• Prior experience working with Clearing Firms/Custodians, Broker/Dealers, RIAs, and private wealth clients preferred.
• Prior knowledge/work experience in alternative investments preferred.
• Working knowledge of CRM, preferably Salesforce.
• Understanding of the financial services, real estate, credit, or investment banking sectors preferred.
• Knowledge of Financial Trading and Clearing Processes for Alternative Investments preferred.
• Experience with transfer agent and/or third-party administrators. SS&C/DST preferred.
• Skilled in Office suite of applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Travel:
Minimal travel will be needed for this position.
