Walton Global Completes Virginia, Arizona Land Sales to D.R. Horton
Walton Global, a real estate investment and land asset management company, recently announced the sale of two parcels to D.R. Horton: Phase 1 of Ladysmith Village Master Plan just north of Richmond, Va.; and Elena Trails in Maricopa, Ariz.
Phase I in the larger 480-acre Ladysmith Village Master Plan encompasses 48.25 acres, or 152 lots intended for single-family and townhome units to support the current and future growth of Caroline County.
“We’re closely monitoring the increase of Virginia’s economy to identify regions where we can offer our support, and Caroline County has proven to have a strong path of growth” said Michael Slavotinek, vice president of the Mid-Atlantic and Carolinas region at Walton Global. “We’re always thrilled when we get the chance to collaborate with D.R. Horton for these opportunities as we know they’re efficient and reliable in delivering quality homes and building lasting communities.”
The recently sold parcel is commuter-friendly, offering direct frontage on State Route 604, according to Walton. It’s also situated within two minutes from US-1 and five minutes from Interstate 95, which leads south to Richmond and north to Washington D.C. The land is also just miles away from elementary-, middle-, and high schools.
The other portion of the plan that is partially completed is Ladysmith Village Founder’s Park. Nearby amenities include a 14,000 square foot Resident’s Center, outdoor amphitheater, library, and numerous parks.
In Arizona’s Pinal County, D.R. Horton is closing on Phase 1 of the 111.4-acre Elena Trails development after Walton’s initial purchase in December 2023. The new community is estimated to deliver 456 homes with wide and diverse ranges of housing options on various lot sizes upon completion.
The property was acquired through Walton’s Builder Land Financing program, a land investment business line launched by the company in 2020. This initiative was designed to assist homebuilders nationwide in securing land assets until they are prepared to begin the horizontal development and vertical construction of new homes.
“We’re excited to continue working with D.R. Horton to bring much needed new home inventory to the city of Maricopa,” said Paul Bae, vice president of portfolio management for Walton Global. “This new community has great access to schools in close proximity, sitting adjacent to Desert Sunrise High School, and will also benefit from the significant employment growth in the area, including the new Intel Ocotillo Campus in Chandler and the Lucid Plant in Casa Grande.”
Elena Trails is situated on the southeast corner of Murphy Road and Farrell Road in Maricopa. The community has planned amenities such as a covered park and BBQ area, community garden, and turf sports field. Upon completion, the estimated 456 single family homes will cater to a wide range of buyers, including first-time homebuyers, with prices estimated to start in the low $300s. Homes are targeted to be delivered in 2025.
“D.R. Horton is pleased with its ongoing relationship with Walton Global,” said Brent Davis, division president of D.R. Horton’s Phoenix region. “We look forward to continuing to provide new homes at an attractive value in the City of Maricopa and building another great community for our residents to enjoy.”
According to Walton, Pinal County has become a manufacturing and technology hub, generating a large volume of construction jobs and other long-term employment opportunities. With Elena Trails in the northwest quadrant of Pinal County, residents will also benefit from proximity to Highway 347 and I-10, providing accessibility to Phoenix.
