Position Summary

Manage all aspects of associate membership recruitment and retention and other industry strategic relationships as needed. Support the Executive Director in the field with researching, acquiring, developing and retaining new members, especially IBD/RIA, advisers. Develop and maintain relationships with the current membership through calling, personal appearances and e-mail. Research and analyze industry markets and identifies ADISA outreach potential.

Membership Duties

  • On a daily basis, proactively contact existing Associate members (IBD, RIA, Reps, IARs) to strengthen relationships as appropriate.
  • Coordinate with Dir of Data/Membership Services and Exhibit sales to promote organization at various industry conferences and opportunities (involves travel).
  • Effectively segment and target calling efforts to achieve goals outlined by the Executive Director.
  • Determine the needs of the prospects, present solutions to their needs, and then follow up.
  • Develop and work with ADISA staff to execute an industry membership recruitment and retention plan.
  • Help vet new memberships to include proper categorization within the organization’s membership.
  • Work with Director of Communications and Director of Member and Data Services on reviewing membership marketing materials.
  • Recruit articles for AIQ, website, and other ADISA publishing vehicles.
  • Contribute to quarterly progress reports for the Board of Directors Meeting.
  • Develop and maintain the industry relations budget.

Event Duties

  • Recruit Associate member attendance of the highest quality and vet all complimentary registrants in cooperation with the database manager.
  • Serve as emcee and manager of speaking opportunities.
  • Assist executive director and volunteer leadership in identifying best program participants for events.
  • Assist exhibit sales with the promotion, sale, coordination of sponsorships.
  • Generate new and repeat exhibitor booth leads.
  • Develop and maintain Associate member relationships onsite at conferences.

Committees

  • Serve as Staff Liaison to the BDAC, and RIA committees or other assigned groups/committees.
  • Send calendar announcements, agenda, and reminders to committees.
  • Take roll call, take minutes and distribute to committee members and staff along with other periodic updates.

Experience

  • A minimum of five years of experience in the retail alts industry in a national accounts or a similar level is a must
  • Experience or strong knowledge of the advisor-based market required
  • Formal sales training preferred
  • Good onstage presence and presentation skills
  • Experience working with non-profits, associations, volunteers and committees a plus
