Walton Global Acquires 143 Acres Near Charlotte for Residential Development

Walton Global, a real estate investment and land asset management company and sponsor of private placement investments, announced the acquisition of a 143-acre parcel in the Charlotte suburb of Gastonia, N.C. The real estate development is zoned for single-family residential purposes.

Known as Springhaven II, the parcel is part of the Springhaven master-planned community, approximately 20 minutes west of Charlotte.

“Located in the south-central Piedmont region, Gaston is the third largest county in the Charlotte Metropolitan Area,” said Michael Slavotinek, vice president, real estate for Walton Global. “Our acquisition of Springhaven II is a great addition to our three adjacent properties and will assist in supporting the county’s growing population.”

Walton Global reports that the Springhaven master-planned community is located just a short drive from Gastonia’s local businesses and offers easy access to Charlotte Douglas International Airport. The parcel is also located near Belmont Abbey College and several local attractions. The Great Smoky Mountains and beaches of Charleston, S.C., are also about a four-hour drive away.

“There are a variety of manufacturing companies operating within Gaston County,” said Mike Doherty, senior vice president, land for Walton Global. “Springhaven II offers strong job opportunity for future residents looking to settle in the area.”

The U.S. Census Bureau reports an estimated population of 237,242 in Gaston County as of July 2023, which is a nearly 4% increase from 2020.

This acquisition is just the latest in a series for Walton Global. In April, the company acquired 60 acres in Tucson Arizona; and in March, the firm purchased nearly 100 acres in South Carolina.
