Red Oak Hires New Chief Financial Officer
Red Oak, a Michigan-based commercial real estate finance company and Regulation A+ sponsor, has hired Thomas McGovern as chief financial officer.
Red Oak Capital Holdings, commercial real estate finance company and Regulation A+ sponsor, has named Thomas A. McGovern as chief financial officer. McGovern is a veteran financial and investment management leader who brings two decades as an investment banker and equity research analyst facilitating capital markets transactions, leading M&A processes, and building relationships with private equity firms and other institutional investors.
McGovern will lead Red Oak’s financial accounting and reporting, M&A, financial markets transactions, investor communications, and ERP migration towards securing and leveraging institutional capital. His strategic and tactical capabilities will help Red Oak craft plans, forecast performance and present complex concepts to investors, creditors and board of directors.
Before joining Red Oak, McGovern was interim CFO at California-based Veronica’s Insurance. During his career, he has held finance and investment leadership roles in companies including Nomura Securities International, Royal Bank of Canada Capital Markets, Cypress Associates LLC, Morgan Stanley, and Lehman Brothers.

McGovern holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Hamilton College, in Clinton, New York. He has a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Designation and is a candidate to receive the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation, (exams completed; license pending).
