KBS Hires Former Credit Suisse Exec to Expand Private Placements Platform
KBS Capital Advisors, the external advisor to KBS real estate investment trusts, has hired Ben Aitkenhead as managing director.
KBS Capital Advisors, the external advisor to KBS real estate investment trusts, has hired Ben Aitkenhead as managing director. In his new role, he will be responsible for developing new capital sources to broaden the range of transactions by KBS and will be focused on building out the company’s private placements platform. Aitkenhead will report to Keith Hall and Peter McMillan, co-founders of KBS Capital Advisors.
Prior to joining KBS, Aitkenhead spent 20 years at Credit Suisse, where he most recently served as a managing director and member of the global fixed income operating committee. Prior to that, he held multiple positions within the fixed income and investment banking team, including co-head of securitized products sales & trading and head of securitized product sales, among others.
Aitkenhead is also an independent trustee to Blackstone Real Estate Investment Fund, Blackstone’s publicly listed, commercial real estate investment fund.

Aitkenhead received a bachelor’s degree in philosophy, politics and economics from Oxford University and a master’s degree in politics from New York University.
