Griffin Capital Adds CIO With Tishman Speyer/Merrill Lynch Roots

Private real estate investment manager Griffin Capital Company LLC appointed Paul DeMartini to serve as chief investment officer and oversee the firm’s development, acquisitions, portfolio management, and asset management divisions. DeMartini will direct investment strategy and execution and serve on the firm’s investment and executive management committees.

Prior to joining Griffin Capital, DeMartini served as senior managing director at Tishman Speyer, where he was responsible for the company’s operations across the Southern California and District of Columbia regions. His responsibilities included overseeing acquisitions, dispositions, asset management, and development. He previously worked in investment banking at Merrill Lynch and as a consultant for Andersen Consulting. DeMartini is a member of the Urban Land Institute and currently serves in leadership of its U.S. Product Councils.

DeMartini graduated cum laude from UCLA with a bachelor’s degree in business economics and received his MBA with honors from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a Palmer Scholar.
