Financial Firm with $85 Million in Assets Joins Berthel Fisher Companies

Berthel Fisher Companies, a Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based, full-service independent financial services firm, announced the recruitment of MP Butterworth & Associates, a Reading, Pennsylvania-based firm.

The firm is led by Mike Butterworth with approximately $85 million in assets under management.

Berthel Fisher says it has recruited over a dozen advisors in recent months, boosting its assets under management by $165 million.

Butterworth founded his firm in 1984 and his son Chris joined the practice in 2012. While the firm offers comprehensive wealth management solutions, the company says it specializes in supporting the long-term planning needs of families caring for loved ones with special needs.

Berthel Fisher has also named Nate Spencer vice president of business development. In this role, the company says Spencer’s responsibilities will include recruiting new independent financial professionals, developing acquisition strategies and fostering organic growth and retention among existing financial professionals.

Spencer comes to Berthel Fisher from Allworth Financial, where he worked in the firm’s mergers and acquisitions unit.
