The Investment Program Association (IPA), in an effort to extend awareness of direct investments, has appointed Matthew Tramel Chief Communications Officer. Tramel, formerly Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Inland Real Estate Investment Corporation (Inland), will lead the IPA’s overall communications strategy.

The IPA, a trade association for non-listed direct investments such as non-traded REITs, BDCs, and direct participation programs, has hired Tramel to direct communications to sponsors, broker-dealers, associate members, and the media. He’s tasked with increasing the overall understanding of direct investments.

“Matt has extensive experience working with our many audiences and has played a pivotal role in the IPA’s public relations initiatives. As we expand our reach and address new and more complex issues, we’re confident that Matt’s talents will make a meaningful contribution to our association,” commented Kevin M. Hogan, President and CEO of the IPA in a statement.

An employee of Inland for six years, Tramel spent the last three responsible for marketing and communications of their products and company messages to a vast audience which included broker dealers, financial advisors, media, affiliates, and investors. Prior to this role, Tramel was the Director of Media and Internal Communications for the REIT sponsor.

“We’re excited to have such a high-caliber communications professional join the IPA,” added Hogan.

In addition to Tramel’s 15 years of related experience, he boasts an undergraduate degree in journalism from Eastern Illinois University and an MBA, Real Estate Finance and Investment, from DePaul.
