Carter Multifamily Internalizes Sales Team and Makes Leadership Appointments
Carter Multifamily Fund Management Company LLC, a private real estate investment company focused on the acquisition of value-add multifamily properties, has internalized its national accounts and sales teams.
Carter Multifamily Fund Management Company LLC, a private real estate investment company focused on the acquisition of value-add multifamily properties, has completed the internalization of its national accounts and sales teams. The firm has appointed Bill Shea as vice president of national accounts and Weldon Evans as executive vice president and director of national sales. Carter Multifamily offerings had previously been distributed by Skyway Capital Markets.
In his new role as vice president of national accounts, Shea will lead the business development functions of the firm, with a focus on developing and cultivating relationships in the alternative investment industry. He has more than 25 years of experience in broker-dealer relationship management, Regulation D private placement offerings, private equity, alternative investments, and other financial products.
Prior to joining Carter Multifamily, Shea served as director of national accounts at Skyway Capital where, according to the company, “he was instrumental in signing 55+ firms for the Carter Multifamily Fund II,” a private placement offering that launched in February 2020 and seeks to raise $200 million from accredited investors. Prior to Skyway Capital, Shea served as national account manager at Megatel Capital Investment, and previously, as account manager for Ridgewood Securities.
Weldon Evans, executive vice president and director of national sales, has more than 35 years of experience in financial services and the alternative investments space.
Evans previously served as national sales director at ExchangeRight Real Estate, a sponsor of securitized 1031 exchanges and other private offerings, and has held senior sales positions at Preferred Apartment Communities, Waypoint Financial Group, Bank of America Capital Management, and American International Group.

Evans will oversee a team of three wholesalers and one internal wholesaler including:
Leo Peters IV, senior vice president, is responsible for raising capital in the institutional and retail investment space in the central region of the United States. He is 26-year veteran of the financial industry and most recently served in a similar capacity for ExchangeRight Real Estate in the central and western regions.
Matthew Calabrese, senior vice president, is responsible for the western region of the country. He has 16 years of experience in the financial services industry and most recently was associated with Howard Capital Management where he sold exchange traded funds, mutual funds, separately managed accounts, and self-directed brokerage accounts in their West Coast territory.
Jim Bullock serves as senior vice president and national director of RIA and family office sales for Carter Funds. Prior to joining the firm, he raised capital in these channels for a variety of private equity, private credit, private real estate, and infrastructure funds. He most recently served as senior vice president of capital markets at Landmark Dividend. In his new role at Carter Multifamily, Bullock is tasked with building out its RIA and family office product on a national level.
Karen George, senior vice president and internal sales director, is responsible for managing and expanding relationships with current selling group members and developing operations. She brings more than 20 years of experience to Carter Multifamily, most recently serving as senior vice president at Waypoint Residential where she led operations of the independent broker-dealer division of the company.
