Triton Pacific Affiliate Acquires 64-Unit KFC Portfolio

Tasty Chick’n, the affiliate of Triton Pacific Capital Partners, has acquired a 64-unit KFC portfolio situated in the Central and Southeastern United States. The acquisition price was not disclosed. Triton Pacific is the sponsor of private placement funds that invest in quick service restaurants via affiliates such as Tasty Chick’n.

Tasty Chick’n said its investment in core and adjacent markets across the Central and Southeastern parts of the nation provide significant growth potential, including new unit development opportunities.

“This acquisition is a transformative addition to the existing Tasty Chick’n business, providing an opportunity to leverage the strong operations and historical performance of the acquired restaurants,” said Craig Faggen, chief executive officer of Triton Pacific.

“With a historical track record of strong cash flow and above brand average unit volumes, we are confident in the growth prospects alongside our current portfolio,” he added.

This news follows a late 2023 announcement that Triton Pacific’s portfolio company Tasty D’Lites LLC had executed a purchase agreement for 17 Dunkin’ restaurants and a central manufacturing location in Vermont. Terms of that acquisition, which Triton Pacific said complemented existing operations in North Carolina and established Tasty D’Lites’ presence in the Northeast, were also not disclosed.

Triton Pacific’s affiliated restaurant management company, Tasty Restaurant Group, manages a diverse portfolio comprising over 470 quick-service restaurants. The portfolio includes brands such as Pizza Hut, Burger King, Dunkin’, Baskin-Robbins, Taco Bell and KFC, and operates across multiple states.

Triton Pacific Capital Partners, a California-based private equity firm established in 2001, focuses on acquiring quick service restaurants and specialty finance and healthcare service companies in high-growth or rapidly changing industries with strong management, operational excellence, efficient capital structures, and robust business models that provide significant consolidation and scalable opportunities.
