Treehouse REIT Hires Chief Financial Officer
Treehouse Real Estate Investment Trust Inc., a private real estate investment trust that owns a net leased portfolio of cannabis-related real estate, has hired David Smith as executive vice president and chief financial officer.
Treehouse Real Estate Investment Trust Inc., a private real estate investment trust that owns a net leased portfolio of cannabis-related real estate, has hired David Smith as executive vice president and chief financial officer. In his role, Smith will be tasked with building out Treehouse’s platform for accounting, tax, finance and investor relations.
Smith has more than 15 years of real estate experience and joins Treehouse from New Senior Investment Group Inc. (NYSE: SNR) where he most recently served as executive vice president and CFO from January 2019 to September 2019.
Prior to this, he served as a managing director in the private equity group of Fortress Investment Group from 2014 to 2018, where he led capital markets and investor relations activities for New Senior Investment Group.
Smith previously held various finance, capital markets and investor relations roles at Ventas (NYSE: VTR) and Aviv REIT (NYSE: AVIV), after beginning his career in the real estate investment banking group at A.G. Edwards. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
Last month, Treehouse REIT completed its private offering and private placement of more than 2.5 million shares of common stock for approximately $60.3 million.
Headquartered in Los Angeles, Treehouse REIT focuses on the acquisition, ownership and management of specialized retail and industrial properties leased to state-licensed operators for their regulated adult-use and medical-use cannabis facilities.
