Resource Royalty, a sponsor of oil and gas-focused 1031 exchange offerings, has hired Mike Faciana as senior vice president and national sales manager, and Ryan Lodes as vice president of institutional investments.
“The most exciting real estate in the country is actually beneath the surface. The addition of Mike and Ryan will help us get the word out about Resource Royalty,” said founder and president Bob Howard.
Prior to joining Resource Royalty, Faciana spent nearly five years as a senior vice president at CIM Group, which purchased Cole Capital from Vereit (NYSE: VER) in early 2018. He previously served in a similar capacity at Steadfast Capital Markets Group from 2011 until 2014.
Lodes spent more than two years as vice president of capital markets at JVM Realty Corporation and held senior sales positions at Burlington Capital from 2012 until 2016.
Collectively and individually, Faciana and Lodes’ career accomplishments are formidable. The company noted that Faciana’s record includes more than $750 million raised for real estate private placements through the broker-dealer community, and Lodes, who specializes in the registered investment advisor segment, has raised $500 million in his career.
“There is much investors don’t know about royalty investing,” said Faciana. “For example, we don’t drill wells and there are absolutely no operating or associated costs to investors. Plus, we utilize proven 1031 exchange strategies employed for years for commercial real estate – we just use the 1031 for the real estate below the surface. My team and I will be pursuing independent financial advisors and wealth managers across the country.”
Lodes added, “With over 20 years in this business, my goal will be to oversee and grow the Resource Royalty selling group. My clients are looking for opportunities, and with unleveraged/zero debt cash flow and a tax advantaged distribution model, we are certainly on their radar. We will be utilizing the real estate approach to energy investing by structuring highly strategic and diversified mineral and royalty investment portfolios for accredited investors.”
Resource Royalty has completed 13 royalty and mineral offerings and raised more than $110 million in investor equity since its founding in 2011. The company is headquartered in Dallas, Texas.
