Leitbox Opens Florida Storage Facility, Part of Company’s Fund II
Leitbox Storage Partners, a self-storage investment and development platform based in Birmingham, Ala., has opened its latest development project in the 2400 block of Cherry Laurel Drive in Sanford, Fla. This three-story, fifth generation Leitbox Prototype with 87,600 net rentable square feet has 901 climate-controlled units in building A and eight jumbo (contractor) units in building B.
“I am thrilled to announce the grand opening of our brand-new self-storage facility in Sanford, Florida! This exciting milestone marks a significant achievement for our company and reflects our commitment to providing top-tier storage solutions to the community,” says Bill Leitner, founding principal of Leitbox.
The storage facility is part of the Leitbox Portfolio Partners Self-Storage Fund II, which launched in October 2020 and sought to raise $50 million.
Both loading zones at the facility feature porte-cocheres for seamless move-ins during inclement weather.
“Our state-of-the-art facility offers a range of storage options designed to meet the diverse needs of Sanford residents and businesses. With cutting-edge security features, climate-controlled units, and exceptional customer service, we are confident that our new location will set a new standard in the self-storage industry. We are immensely proud of the hard work and dedication that has gone into making this project a reality,” added Leitner.
The property is located just feet from US-4, which boasts traffic counts in excess of 100,000 vehicles per day. The property neighbors a new Class A multifamily property at the highly trafficked intersection between a Publix grocer and a Sam’s Club. In a state that consistently outpaces national population growth, Sanford has enjoyed a steady population increase contributing to the allure of the site.
Earlier this year, Leitbox announced the grand opening of a self-storage facility in Bluffton, S.C., also part of the company’s Fund II.
Leitbox Storage Partners is a real estate investment company that develops and acquires self-storage, often with mixed use and retail integration, in primary and secondary markets throughout the United States.
