Financial Services Vet Joins DealPoint Merrill as Chief Risk Officer

Southern Calif.-based DealPoint Merrill announced the appointment of James A. “Jim” Kamradt as chief risk officer. In the role, Kamradt will oversee capital formation efforts for DealPoint Merrill’s Capital Markets Group.

With a background in capital formation, underwriting and due diligence, Kamradt will collaborate with real estate investors and investment advisers to attract funding for infill projects. His work will primarily focus on climate-controlled storage facilities and the strategic repurposing of shopping centers affected by shifting retail trends.

Kamradt brings over 40 years of experience in the financial services industry, having facilitated more than $4 billion in capital formation and deployment. He has led syndicates employing debt, equity, and hybrid investment structures across a range of organizations, from emerging growth companies to investment-grade firms.

He has also negotiated more than 1,000 selling agreements, underwritten various portfolios, and conducted independent due diligence reporting for alternative investment offerings, including real estate investment trusts, 1031 exchanges, and energy investments.

Kamradt holds FINRA Series 7, 22, 24, 39, and 63 licenses. He received his MBA from the University of California, Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, and a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Michigan Technological University.
