Ex Goldman Sachs VP Joins Hines Private Wealth Services to Lead Strategic Accounts

Global real estate investment firm Hines hired John Caruso as managing director and head of strategic accounts for Hines Private Wealth Solutions. Caruso joined Hines PWS following approximately nine years at Goldman Sachs Asset Management where he was a vice president, senior relationship manager for national accounts.

At Goldman Sachs, Caruso was responsible for leading strategic relationships and directing a team of relationship managers covering wirehouse and registered investment adviser channels for both private and public market fundraising across a number of financial vehicles – including real estate, private equity and multi-asset portfolios with high net-worth and ultra-high net-worth advisers.

Caruso was also a vice president, investment solutions relationship manager for U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management from 2010 to 2015 and a financial solutions adviser at Merrill Lynch from 2009 to 2010.

“We are very excited to have John join our team,” said Paul Ferraro, global head of Hines PWS. “John has deep expertise in the wealth management industry and proven success in business development and growth which pairs well with our focus on expanding and building on Hines’ commitment to individual investors and their financial professionals.”

Caruso has an MBA from New York University’s School of Business and bachelor’s degrees in economics and communications from Rutgers University. He holds FINRA Series 7 and 66 licenses.

Regarding international activities earlier this year, Hines PWS closed on its first sponsored investment offering in Latin America via its partnership with global fintech platform iCapital.

The Hines Private Wealth Solutions team markets Hines-sponsored investment products designed to serve private wealth investors through wirehouse, private bank, independent broker-dealer, RIA, and family office channels by tapping into the capabilities of one of the world’s largest real estate investment managers.

Hines was founded in 1957 and now operates in 30 countries. As of June 30, 2024, it manages a $93 billion portfolio of high-performing assets across residential, logistics, retail, office, and mixed-use strategies. It is committed to a net zero carbon target by 2040 without buying offsets.
