WNC Welcomes Daniel Garrett as Vice President, Originations

WNC, a national real estate investor that specializes in affordable housing, recently added Daniel Garrett as its new Vice President, Originations.

Prior to joining WNC, Mr. Garrett worked at the company he founded, Garrett Development Group, where he assisted general partners in structuring and developing low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) projects.

“Daniel has a wealth of experience and brings numerous relationships to his new role at WNC,” commented Will Cooper Jr., President and Chief Executive Officer of WNC.

Mr. Garrett also spent a number of years at Midwest Housing Equity Group where he was Executive Vice President and Director of Asset Management. Earlier in his career, Mr. Garrett served as Construction Manager and Assistant Development Director at the same tax credit syndication company. During his time there, Mr. Garrett assisted in acquiring 62 LIHTC properties totaling 2,200 units and representing between 35% and 50% of annual tax credits awarded in Iowa.

A graduate of Wartburg College, Mr. Garret earned his bachelor’s degree in History and Political science. He also earned his master’s degree in Public Administration from Drake University. He is a Housing Certified Credit Professional, and since 2010 he has been a member of the City of Des Moines Housing Appeals Board.
