Walton Global Sells 80 Acres in Maryland

Walton Global, a real estate investment firm and sponsor of private placement offerings, announced that the company closed on 80 acres in Prince George’s County, Maryland. D.R. Horton, a home construction company, acquired the property for an undisclosed price with the intention of building a master plan community, known as Spring Hills.

This transaction is the first phase of residential development for the Dobson Ridge Master Plan which includes a total of 822 acres. Forestar, the developer, received approval for a subdivision of 196 lots.

The overall master plan is slated for a variety of residential unit types, as well as a mix of employment and retail uses. Residential units are planned to present a variety of offerings including single-family detached dwellings, single-family attached dwellings and multifamily products. Non-residential uses are anticipated to include various retail, commercial office and civic uses.

“This has been a highly anticipated initial phase of Spring Hills and we are always happy to see progress and move forward with D.R. Horton,” said David Peter, executive vice president, special projects at Walton Global. “This master plan is our first development with D.R. Horton in Maryland, and we are pleased to contribute to the continued growth within the area, as well as support this flourishing community.”

Located just outside of Washington, D.C., this upcoming development will provide access to Route 5 and Highway 301.

“We are excited to get this first phase of Spring Hills underway and to continue growing our relationship with Walton Global,” said Dwyane Hill, D.R. Horton’s capital division president.

As the DI Wire previously reported in August 2022, Walton Global closed on a bulk sale of 681 acres in San Marcos, Texas.
