Stanger Research Group Names Co-Head of Research

The Stanger Research Group at Robert A. Stanger & Co. Inc., a national investment banking firm, announced that David Inauen has joined the group as co-head of research.

The Stanger Research Group at Robert A. Stanger & Co. Inc., a national investment banking firm, announced that David Inauen has joined the group as co-head of research alongside Nancy Schabel.

Inauen previously served as executive vice president at Stanger, where he provided advisory services to both traded and non-traded real estate investment trusts including reviews of strategic alternatives, mergers and acquisitions, management internalizations, NAV valuations and other advisory services.

Inauen has more than 20 years of financial services experience, and prior to joining Stanger, served as vice president of Financo Inc., a boutique investment bank where he spent 12 years and provided financial advisory services to the consumer and merchandising sectors. He also served as a financial analyst at Mercantile Capital Partners, Financo’s private equity affiliate.

Inauen graduated from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, concentrating in accounting and finance, and is registered with FINRA as a general securities principal and an investment banking principal, according to the Stanger website.

Stanger has also released reports on six non-traded NAV REITs, including an initial report on Black Creek Industrial REIT IV Inc., and updated coverage on Blackstone Real Estate Income Trust, Starwood REIT, Hines Global Income Trust, JLL Income Property Trust, and Black Creek Diversified Property Fund.

“With our previously announced projection that NAV REITs will raise over $25 billion in 2021, we believe it is of growing importance for independent research to be available on NAV REITs,” said Kevin Gannon, chairman and chief executive officer. “Our goal is to bring increased transparency to the NAV REIT sector so that the growing number of investors in this space can make investment decisions that are as fully informed as possible.”

Stanger’s research includes recommendations based upon a review of current NAV, asset composition and pricing; a five-year projection of cash flow and target NAV ranges, an assessment of the incremental impact of new fundraising on the returns to existing investors; and a review of historical fundraising, redemptions, distributions and total annualized returns.

Founded in 1978, Robert A. Stanger & Co. Inc. is a national investment banking firm specializing in providing investment banking, financial advisory, fairness opinion and asset and securities valuation services to partnerships, REITs, and real estate advisory and management companies in support of strategic planning and execution, capital formation and financings, mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations and consolidations.
