Securities America Celebrates 30th Anniversary at Connect! National Conference

The independent broker-dealer’s Connect! national conference will be held June 20-23 in San Francisco and will celebrate Securities America’s 30th anniversary.

“We wanted to mark Securities America’s 30th anniversary year with a special line up of speakers, education and entertainment for our advisors,” said Kirk Hulett, executive vice president of strategy and practice management. “Connect! gives our advisors and their staff access to the foremost industry thought leadership on every aspect of growing, perfecting and securing a financial practice.”

Condoleezza Rice, former National Security Advisor and U.S. Secretary of State under President George W. Bush will be opening the conference as keynote speaker. In addition to providing 80 education sessions and ample opportunities for learning and discussion, the conference promises a good time with the rock band Three Dog Night performing on the Sunday night of the event. Author Captain Richard Phillips, made famous by the film Captain Phillips will close the conference as final speaker.

The conference features a live, interactive panel of Gen X and Gen Y investors. Panelists will respond to messages from financial advisors while the audience watches. “This session lets advisors see the ‘thought bubbles’ over the clients’ heads,” commented panelist moderator Lee Hartley Carter. “Clients themselves are training the advisors on what they want to hear, what they want to be told, what they want to be educated on and how they want to be interacted with.”

Securities America has also developed its own version of TED Talks for the conference called SAM Talks. Chad Parmenter, Paula Dorion-Gray, and Howard Slayter, three top advisors, have been invited to speak on various topics.
