S2K Financial Holdings Names Former Cetera Veteran as SVP of Due Diligence

S2K Financial Holdings has appointed David Fred to the newly-created position of senior vice president of due diligence at S2K Servicing. S2K Financial Holdings is the holding company for both S2K Financial, an independent wholesale broker-dealer, and S2K Servicing, an operations platform for institutional managers.

Fred most recently served as a member of the senior leadership team of Cetera Financial Group and was head of due diligence for the Cetera network of firms. In this role, he and his team were responsible for implementation, documentation and completion of operational due diligence activities in conjunction with products distributed by Cetera.

Earlier roles in his career include head of due diligence for the ING Advisor Network, director of product analysis for Financial Network Investment Corporation, and various roles at Smith Barney Shearson and Lehman Brothers.

“David brings an impressive level of experience in reviewing and analyzing investment solutions for retail investors, combined with an in-depth understanding of what financial advisors need when they connect investment solutions with retail investors,” said Neil Cohen, president of S2K Servicing. “He clearly has a passion for working with financial services businesses that prize independence and objectivity and a unique blend of professional strengths and convictions, to be an ideal fit with S2K’s vision to redefine third-party investment product distribution.”

Fred will report directly to Cohen.

As reported by The DI Wire earlier this year, S2K Financial hired Megan Smith as the firm’s director of national accounts.

S2K Servicing provides due diligence, operations, administrative and marketing services to institutional investment managers. S2K Financial is an independent wholesale broker-dealer that specializes in bringing institutional managers to independent broker-dealers and registered investment advisors.
