Red Oak Capital Holdings hires vice president of capital markets.

Red Oak Capital Holdings, a Michigan-based commercial real estate finance company, has hired James Rea as vice president of capital markets to cover the Southeast region of the United States for Red Oak Capital.

In his new role, his primary responsibilities include representing the company and interfacing with the broker-dealer, financial advisor, and investor community.

Rea has nearly two decades of experience in both real estate and capital markets, and prior to joining Red Oak, served as executive vice president of business development for Bourne Financial Group, a private equity, seniors housing development company with assets totaling $1 billion. Earlier in his career, he served as vice president of fund management for CNL Healthcare Properties and other CNL-sponsored real estate funds.

According to the company, Rea has been involved with capital raising and investment sales of both institutional multi-tenant and single-tenant real estate spanning commercial real estate sectors. He has reportedly completed more than a half a billion dollars of real estate transactions in 39 states and helped raise capital for real estate funds totaling in excess of $21 billion.

“We believe James’ background in finance, real estate, and capital markets make him a perfect fit for this role in the Southeast region at Red Oak,” said Gary Bechtel, chief executive officer. “We are confident he will play a significant role in the continued growth of the company and help strengthen our capital markets team.”

Rea holds a bachelor’s degree in both hospitality administration and marketing from Florida State University. Additionally, he holds a Florida real estate agent license, as well as FINRA Series 22, 63, and SIE securities licenses.

Red Oak Capital Holdings is a family of commercial real estate finance and investment companies that includes Red Oak Financial, Red Oak Holdings Management, and Red Oak Capital GP. Red Oak sponsors several non-traded alternative investment programs including Regulation A+ bond offerings.
