Phoenix American Financial Services Hires Chief Risk and Compliance Officer

Phoenix American Financial Services, a provider of transfer agent services for alternative investments, has hired Ned Montenecourt as the company’s chief risk and compliance officer.

Montenecourt, who has more than 20 years of industry experience, will be responsible for all aspects the company’s risk and compliance framework. He will manage firm risk, various audits, and oversee operations, collaborate with clients as needed, and institute standard operating procedures to streamline compliance.

Montenecourt worked most recently with BlackRock Inc. as chief compliance officer for BlackRock Investments LLC and BlackRock Execution Services and was responsible for the company’s broker-dealer distribution channels for the active, passive and private products.

He has experience across a variety of fund types and investment strategies as well as other financial services entities including broker-dealers, custodians, banks, commodity trading advisors and operators, and clearing houses, and has participated in high-profile industry roundtables, discussions with legislators and regulators, internal committees, and working groups.

Phoenix American Financial Services provides back office outsourcing, fund accounting and transfer agent services, as well as sales and marketing reporting services to fund companies in the alternative investment industry. The company was founded in 1972 and is headquartered in San Rafael, California.
