The board of Nuveen Global Cities REIT Inc., a publicly registered non-traded real estate investment trust, has appointed Richard Kimble to serve as co-president of the company, effective immediately. He replaces Timothy Horrocks who resigned from his position as co-president and head of European investment, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Kimble, who previously served as the REIT’s head of portfolio management since July 2017, has more than 18 years of experience in structuring and managing equity and debt components of commercial real estate.

He has held numerous roles on Nuveen Real Estate’s transactions and portfolio management teams and has been involved in more than $8 billion of transactions, the company said.  He served on the United States regional team for Nuveen and led investment activity including acquisitions, asset management, and dispositions, and in 2012, he opened Nuveen’s San Francisco office and built out the Northwest transaction team.

Before joining the firm in 2007, Kimble worked for RER Financial Group and specialized in CMBS due diligence assignments, acquisitions, and debt restructurings. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Mary Washington College and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. In addition, he is a chartered financial analyst charterholder and is a member of the Urban Land Institute and Commercial Real Estate Development Association.

Nuveen Global Cities REIT launched its initial offering in January 2018 and raised $394.4 million in investor equity before closing in July 2021. Its $5 billion follow-on offering has raised $644.3 million.
