NB Private Capital Hires Senior Vice President of Asset Management
NB Private Capital LLC, a real estate investment firm and sponsor of private placement offerings, has added James Hogen, Mark Antoun, and Christine Wu to its accounting and asset management teams.
NB Private Capital LLC, a real estate investment firm and sponsor of private placement offerings, has hired James Hogen as senior vice president of asset management.
In his new role, Hogen will oversee the asset management of several student housing properties in the NB Private Capital portfolio. He has more than 13 years of Class A multifamily asset management experience and specializes in the student housing asset class, the company said.
Before joining the firm, Hogen served as director of asset management at SmartStop Asset Management LLC in Ladera Ranch, California. Prior to SmartStop, he spent six years as a senior associate at American Realty Advisors and was previously an associate at LaSalle Investment Management. Hogen holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Maryland at College Park and is an LEED AP.
The firm also hired Christine Wu, a former property accountant at SmartStop, to serve as a senior accountant. She is a graduate of California State University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and has three years of accounting experience.
“The reason we launched NBPC was to shift the focus from growth at all costs to seeking measured and responsible growth,” said founder and president Brian Nelson. “Asset management, property management and client services are every bit as important as top-line sales numbers. In fact, probably more so. We will continue to add the best and the brightest to our team with a laser focus on performance, communication and accountability.”
NB Private Capital LLC, an investment firm founded by Brian Nelson – previously of Nelson Brothers Professional Real Estate – specializes in the acquisition, financing, and ownership of student housing properties. The company currently manages more than $700 million in multifamily housing real estate. The company noted that it has completed three syndications, launched three new programs, exited two investment programs, and raised close to $100 million since its inception last year.
