Mad Money Host Jim Cramer Interviews Franklin Square CEO

As previously announced, Franklin Square Capital Partner’s (Franklin Square) CEO, Michael C. Forman appeared on CNBC’s television series, Mad Money on September 15, 2014.

With Mad Money’s host, Jim Cramer, Mr. Forman discussed the basics of business development companies (BDCs) and the structure of FS Investment Corporation (NYSE: FSIC), Franklin Square’s listed BDC.

Mr. Forman explained the role of BDCs investing in middle-market companies and clarified what they are by saying, “We’re providing capital to Mom and Pop; $50 to $100 million dollar net-income companies.”

The conversation also discussed Franklin Square’s goal, with Mr. Forman commenting, “Our mission is bringing best-in-class alternatives to main-stream investors.”

Mr. Cramer ended the segment by urging viewers to “Do your homework and take a look at it,” because it could be of interest to those seeking yield as FSIC had yielded over 8.5% as of September 15, 2014.
