LPL Recruits Former Wells Fargo Financial Advisor with $125 Million AUM

LPL Financial LLC, the nation’s largest independent broker-dealer, has added financial advisor Brian Gernant of Gernant Asset Management to its broker-dealer and corporate registered investment advisor platforms.

LPL Financial LLC, the nation’s largest independent broker-dealer, has added financial advisor Brian Gernant of Gernant Asset Management to its broker-dealer and corporate registered investment advisor platforms. Gernant joins from Wells Fargo Financial Network and manages approximately $125 million of client brokerage, advisory and retirement plan assets.

Gernant has more than 36 years of financial services experience and is a native of Geneseo, Illinois where his practice is based.

He established the practice in his hometown with the goal of “providing transparent and independent financial advice,” and added that over the past five years, the “fee-based percentage of his business has nearly doubled—from 35 percent to 65 percent.”

Gernant is supported by a registered assistant, Carol Neuleib.

“My philosophy to growth is slow and steady, using traditional networking to attract new clients,” he said. “That means most of my clients have been with me for a long time and expect personalized service.”

According to his Brokercheck profile, before joining LPL, Gernant spent 11 years with Wells Fargo and 12 years with A.G. Edwards & Sons. He holds FINRA Series 7, 8, 63, and SIE licenses.

LPL Financial provides service to approximately $706 billion in brokerage and advisory assets as of the second quarter of 2019. The company provides proprietary technology, comprehensive clearing services, practice management programs and training, and independent research to more than 16,000 financial advisors and 700 financial institutions.
