LPL Financial LLC, the nation’s largest independent broker-dealer, has added industry veteran David B. Winston of Winston Wealth Advisors and his team to its broker-dealer and corporate registered investment advisor platforms, which includes LPL custodial services.

The team joins from Securities America, part of the Advisor Group network of broker-dealers and serves approximately $300 million in brokerage and advisory assets.

Winston founded the company 25 years ago with modest beginnings and has since purchased two practices from retiring advisors. The firm has offices in Lubbock and Dallas, Texas, and now includes financial professionals Dianna Dunlap, Ashley Hougland, Tara Kincaid and Jacob Winston, David’s son. Cassie Hererra provides client support.

Winston is looking to further expand his business by acquiring practices from retiring advisors. “The pool of prospects at LPL is huge as we make plans to grow in Texas,” he said.

This marks the second major team this month to join LPL from Securities America. Last week, The DI Wire reported that roughly 100 financial professionals affiliated with JFC Financial Services joined the broker-dealer, adding approximately $3 billion in brokerage, advisory and retirement plan assets.

LPL Financial provides service to approximately $670 billion in brokerage and advisory assets as of March 31, 2020. The company provides proprietary technology, comprehensive clearing services, practice management programs and training, and independent research to 16,763 financial advisors and 700 financial institutions.
