LPL Adds Former Ameriprise Team with $150 Million in Client Assets

LPL Financial LLC, the nation’s largest independent broker-dealer, has added three former Ameriprise financial advisors to its broker-dealer and corporate registered investment advisor platforms.
Carter Johns, Michael Chu and John Gillis comprise JCG LLC in Chesapeake, Virginia and served more than $150 million of client brokerage, advisory and retirement plan assets. The trio, who have nearly 60 years of combined financial services experience, formed JCG in 2012 and built their business largely through referrals.
LPL Financial provides service to approximately $706 billion in brokerage and advisory assets as of the second quarter of 2019. The company provides proprietary technology, comprehensive clearing services, practice management programs and training, and independent research to more than 16,000 financial advisors and 700 financial institutions.
