John Behn of Securities America Receives GAMA International Volunteer of the Year Award

Securities America announced today that its first vice president of branch office development, John Behn, was awarded the 2013 Volunteer of the Year Award by GAMA International. The Volunteer of the Year Award recognizes a GAMA member for their commitment to improving GAMA and the industry during the previous calendar year.

GAMA International is an organization that is dedicated to the professional development of field leaders in the insurance and financial services industry. Mr. Behn has been heavily involved with GAMA since 1991, contributing to its journal and serving on its Professional Development and Resource Network committees. During his time there he has added additional members, revenue, and partners to the organization.

For the past year, Mr. Behn has worked at Securities America, an independent broker-dealer with over 1,700 independent advisors. Mr. Behn has over 23 years of experience in the insurance financial services industries and has worked for companies such as New York Life, American Family, and Transamerica.

“Since joining Securities America a year ago, John Behn has applied his extensive knowledge and experience of sales and financial services to our recruiting processes,” said Jim Nagengast, CEO and president of Securities America. “John’s passion has invigorated our recruiting team, resulting in an impressive increase in advisors and assets during 2013. We’re proud of John’s contributions to GAMA International and proud to have him as part of Securities America.”
