Industry Veteran Tim Snodgrass to Lead Arete’s New BD/RIA Division

Arete Capital Markets, a division of Arete Wealth Management, recently launched a new broker-dealer/registered investment advisor distribution division that will be led by Tim Snodgrass.

The new broker-dealer/RIA distribution division will focus on expanding the company’s existing financial product and service channels, which encompasses 20-plus offices and more than 125 advisors throughout the country.

“We are excited to have Tim join this team, as he has extensive experience raising capital. This greatly complements the strengths of our existing due diligence and compliance team,” stated Karlton Kleis, managing director of Arete Capital Markets.

Snodgrass has worked with Arete in various roles and partnerships over the past six years, and currently serves as the senior vice president of business development at Arete Wealth Management.

Previously, he was a founding partner of Axxcess Capital LLC and its affiliates, a collection of investment banking and advisory firms focused on the real estate, energy and healthcare investment sectors.

Prior to founding Axxcess, Snodgrass was president of Argus Realty Investors LP, a real estate investment firm that acquired more than $1.6 billion in commercial real estate and was later sold to Thompson National Properties.

He is also a founder and former president of the Tenant-in-Common Association, now the Alternative Direct Investment Securities Association, for which he served as president from 2003 to 2006.

Snodgrass received his bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University and a juris doctorate from Thomas Jefferson School of Law.

Headquartered in Chicago, Arete Wealth Management is the financial investment entity within the Arete family of companies. AWM is a full service broker-dealer, registered investment advisor and insurance company. The firm offers wealth management for high-net worth individuals and institutions, alternative investment access, venture capital and private equity programs.
