Hartman REITs’ COO and General Counsel to Resign

Hartman Short Term Income Properties XX Inc. and Hartman vREIT XXI Inc. reported to the Securities and Exchange Commission that Mark Torok, chief operations officer, general counsel and corporate secretary, plans to resign from both companies.

Hartman Short Term Income Properties XX Inc. and Hartman vREIT XXI Inc., two publicly registered non-traded real estate investment trusts, reported to the Securities and Exchange Commission that Mark Torok, chief operations officer, general counsel and corporate secretary of both REITs, plans to resign on April 9, 2021. No additional details were disclosed in the filing.

According to his LinkedIn page, Torok joined Hartman in June 2015, after spending 11 years practicing real estate law at The Torok Law Firm P.C., which he founded in April 2004. He previously served as director of regulatory compliance at USAA.

Torok holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and a juris doctor from Willamette University College of Law, as well as FINRA 7, 24, and 63 securities licenses.

Hartman invests in commercial office, retail, light industrial and warehouse properties located in Texas.

As of December 31, 2020, Hartman XX owned 44 commercial properties totaling approximately 6.8 million square feet located in San Antonio, Richardson and Houston, Texas, as well as four pad sites, two land developments, and a controlling limited liability company interest in an affiliate. In July 2020, Hartman Income REIT and Hartman Short Term Income Properties XIX, merged into Hartman XX.

Hartman vREIT XXI broke escrow on December 1, 2016 and raised nearly $87 million in investor equity since inception, as of December 31, 2020. The company owns 10 properties, as well as a 2.47 percent ownership interest in a special purpose entity, an approximately 83 percent tenant-in-common interest in an office property located in Houston, and 700,302 common shares of Hartman Short Term Income Properties XX.
