FS Energy and Power Fund Appoints Chief Operating Officer

FS Energy and Power Fund, a non-traded business development company sponsored by FS Investments, has appointed James Beach as chief operating officer.

FS Energy and Power Fund, a non-traded business development company sponsored by FS Investments, has appointed James Beach as chief operating officer, who is responsible for fund administration and operations, including valuation, forecasting, management and compliance reporting. He joined FS Investments in 2010, where he serves as a managing director.

Beach primarily focuses on matters relating to FS Energy and Power Fund, but he also performs administrative matters for a number of FS Investments- sponsored funds, the company noted in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Prior to joining FS Investments, Beach was an investment banking analyst at Ewing Bemiss & Co. He received his bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Richmond and a general course certificate from the London School of Economics. Beach holds the CFA Institute’s chartered financial analyst designation.

FS Energy and Power Fund launched in July 2011 to invest primarily in privately-held U.S. companies in the energy and power industry. In November 2016, the company closed its public offering to new investors. The company’s investment portfolio had a fair value of $2.5 billion as of March 31, 2020.
