Financial Services Industry Veteran Joins the IPA as Executive Director of Strategic Partnerships
The Institute for Portfolio Alternatives (IPA), a trade organization representing the non-traded direct investment industry, has named Sori Farsheed to the newly created position of executive director of strategic partnerships.

A 30-year financial services industry veteran, Farsheed has held a variety of senior-level business development and relationship management roles for firms within the IPA community, including Bluerock Capital Markets, CION Investments, Legg Mason and Alliance Bernstein.
She has experience in developing distribution strategy across the independent broker-dealer, bank and wirehouse channels for various alternative investment products as well as exchange-traded funds, exchange-traded notes, structured products, interval funds and mutual funds.
“Sori is fluent with our industry’s evolution, the product structures and the expanding distribution channels that are all working in concert to create more opportunities for retail advisors and their clients to effectively diversify their portfolios,” said Tony Chereso, president and chief executive officer of the IPA. “I am thrilled to add her significant expertise and experience to our talented team.”
Farsheed’s new role combines education and business development functions for the IPA. She will lead the association in strategic planning and execution of educational initiatives, conferences and webinar series.
Additionally, the trade group said that she will be charged with expanding membership, increasing engagement and ensuring the highest level of marketing and educational support for all its members.
Farsheed holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 securities licenses.
The Institute for Portfolio Alternatives is an advocacy and education group for non-traded alternative investment industry. The organization seek to raise awareness of investment products with low correlation to the equity markets, which include non-traded real estate investment trusts, business development companies, interval funds and direct participation programs.
